Hi,

I have an LSI 20160 card with a low profile bracket. I was wondering if there's an easy way to fit a regular sized one on there WITHOUT buying a new bracket... The two screws pictured come off easily and I can take out the small bracket that way. I have plenty of fullsize blank brackets. What's the best way to fit the card into one? Thanks

You can try using the low profile bracket as a template, then mark your cuts and the center punch locations for drilling. I did this once for a Radeon 7500.

Would do as suggested above.

Also, invest in a step drill bit, much easier to use than a regular spiral drill bit on thin and flimsy sheet metal stuff like that. You could probably ebay a bit good enough for this job for a few bucks. Drill away as much metal as possible, then file up the holes to the desired size/shape. Clamping the bracket in a vice will make the filing much easier.
