NVIDIA offers downloads of all drivers compatible with the 6800 GT on their website. In the past I have had trouble with new drivers and older games. Which driver version offers the best performance for games from the 2000-2005 era?
6800gt is released in april 2004 so one of the first drivers should be good enough for the most part? Probably a later driver for the 2005 period?
Best advice i can give with this sort of stuff is to check reviews for cards AND games and see what software/hardware they used.

That's a tough request. There is no best driver for the 6800 series, since it depends on a variety of factors, like what chipset your board is running, what OS you are running and of course what games you want to play on it.
I like the 92 series driver the best
