every game runs slow. so far i tried abuse, bust a move, and colonization. I really dont think it's hardware problem since i use a 2.4g Intel P4 with 700ish ram. can anyone help?

What about reading README/WIKI/DOSBOX Guides (cycles, frameskip...).

Why should you read a file called Re-a-Dme? I don't know how to do "Re", and I don't know what a "Dme" is. 🙄

ya, i read the readme and went through all the help and faq. i pumped the cycle all the way up to 30,000 and played around with the frame skip. it was enough to play slow paced games like coloniztion but stutters way too much foraction games. i dont really get how to edit the dosbox configs.

If dosbox is indeed using 30.000 cycles (look at the title bar to confirm), then you're on the right way. Optimizing dosbox.conf for your own system is a bit tedious, but you only have to do it once. You can use a frontend like D-Fend, it should make things a little easier.

30000 cycles is too many for a 2.4GHz CPU, even with dynamic core. That's probably why your sound is stuttering.

You'll probably want to play with different output modes as well.
