My flat screen tv also services as an extended screen for my laptop OS Win7 Home 32bit. I use the extended screen if I wand to display a map while playing a game, displaying instructions while working on a project and so on.

When playing a DOS game with Dosbox in normal mode everything is fine. But when I hit Alt + Enter to put the game in full screen mode on the laptop screen. What ever file that is open on the extended screen gets shifted half way to the right and the desktop background picture is half the normal size. See the attached screen capture picture of the extended screen when the laptop screen is in full screen mode. I can get the file/picture back centered in the extended screen by shifting the file/picture half way to the left so half of the file/picture is on the laptop screen and half is on the extended screen in normal mode. So when I hit Alt + Enter the file/picture is centered in the extended screen. I am assuming there is a cmd in the dosbox.conf to fix this?

PS: This happens with all the DOS games that I have.

I would suggest selecting a different output in the dosbox options file.

But it's not a common problem. (or a widely used usage pattern of dosbox)

Make the change in the dosbox.conf file?

yes,
there is a line with output=surface in there, change that overlay or opengl

I tried all of them "surface, overlay, opengl, openglnb, ddraw" no change to the extended screen. This extended screen is my HD flat screen tv in pc mode.

Yes it is set to extended.

Do you have your desktop set to extendend?

Configured for 2 Monitors ?

seems to me, dosbox places the windows the middle of where desktop1 ends and Desktop 2 beginns.

If I switch the monitor switch to only 1 monitor then there is no extended screen period. What do you mean by "change (virtually) positions of laptop and tv"?

can you change it to 1 Monitor only and try Dosbox again?

or can you change (virtually) positions of laptop and tv?

😁 IT IS FIXED. I swapped the screens. The tv/extended screen is physically on the left side of the laptop. But to move the mouse to the extended screen I had to go off the right edge of the laptop screen. By swapping screens in the Windows display setting I now move the mouse off the left edge of the laptop screen to get into the extended screen. That's what fixed it. I wish I could be able to scroll the doc file showing in the extended screen with the mouse while Doxbox is in full screen mode but you can't always have your cake and eat it to. 😀
