Hey i'm new to dosbox and hav managed to get it sorted, but i was wondering what cpu cycles and frame skip would be recommended for a 3.2 amd processor??

It's difficult to say. Use a frameskip of 1 or 2 and keep an eye of task manager until CPU use reaches 85-90%

Actually for that fast of a CPU I'd start with a frameskip of 0 and then adjust cycles as eL_PuSHeR describes. If you're playing a newer game and it just won't run fast enough, then try raising the frameskip to 1 or 2.
the prob is any game i run it is always at cpu usage of 100% 😠 i reckon it's xp cause whenever i ain't running anything it's at 0 (with background applications on) -.- 🙄 😒
