The case is apparently a Topower 730DF, according to the box it shipped in. I'm still trying to confirm that though, along with the manufacture date, if anybody has any info.
<snip>
I'm still researching what hardware I want to use for the rest of the 486 build, but I wanted to go ahead and snag a case so I could gawk at it for inspiration. I saw the sealed copy of Windows 3.1 for a great price too, so couldn't pass it up. My target year for the build is going to be 1993 and I'll be basing it around the DX2-66.
I got two in the same family:
Sounds like a nice build! If only I had more time, I would do a nice DX2-66 VLB build 😀
1982 to 2001
Some Dreamblaster goodness:
Dreamblaster S2
Dreamblaster X3M
Extensive reviews, recordings and videos for these coming soon..

Found a place online that still had new FX5950 ultras of all things, most of them were over priced as hell, like 300$ plus. But they did have a ok priced (a little high) for a new Golden Sample fx5950ultra. I nabbed it up and hope the sale goes through, the VNF100 I got the other day was out of stock so I still have to find one of them.
Arrived today along lots of other useless garbish. Asked the seller to pack at least the Voodoos separately in newspapers. He replied that he sold it for gold recovery 😒 😒 😒 As**** Do people relly think somebody buys 5 kg of boards to recover the gold from it?! Will not rate him positive. At least the cards I was looking arrived in one piece. Havent noticed however that slot brakcets are missing...
EDIT: 3dfx seem to be working. AWE32 not, but already saw what needs to be fixed...
EDIT2: AWE32 also fixed..cap was broken 😀

Interesting. Never heard this device before so have been listening to Soundcloud with Dreamblaster enhanced game soundtracks. I particularly like Betrayal at Krondor through the Dreamblaster.

Not only that but you'd be in a hole even if the parts were free. Probity less then 1 gram of gold there that could be recovered.

Gold recovery on a voodoo?
Anyways, they sell it like that to completely cover themselves from liability. Scrap is scrap. As for the brackets, they can easily take those off to melt the metal.

Would mods be upset if we had a freebies thread on vogons?
Sometimes I buy a ebay lot (or a system), and they come with random crap I don't want, but someone else may want. I'd give them away for shipping + packing costs.

that's my advice.
It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

I get nothing when I type in "dell" 🙁
Some of those prices are insane too. 300 pounds for a powerbook 5300? That's a 50-75 dollar laptop. At least the exchange rate isn't as bad as it used to be when the majority of britons had some common sense. (Yup, that's a brexit joke because trump sucks and it's nice to know the rest of the world is suffering from modern politics as well)

My newest purchase.
1993 IBM Thinkpad 750Cs. It looks to be in mint condition indeed. What is interesting, it's grey and not black as most Thinkpads. Made in UK.
Any love for classic IBMs?

486SL 33mhz
4mb ram, expandable with DRAM card

I have stacks of Thinkpads , very easy to work on. The color on yours looks nice. I don't mind the black color since it is easy to clean, but the rubber coated Thinkpads don't age that well if not handled nicely. Go look at most 701c and 701cs butterfly model Thinkpads and find one where the finish isn't crap.
