I have this MB (pic included) that I cannot find a replacement for anywhere. I sent it to a repair shop to get a bus transceiver soldered back but it still hasn't worked. This is the first PC that I have ever owned and it kills me to have it set on the shelf doing nothing. If anybody has any information as to where I can find a replacement, I would pay out the nose to have another one.

It's TMC PCI58PL. A close sibling is AM-586VIPL. They are indeed rare.

The board is probably fixable but it won't be cheap and it is missing traces, you need to find a proper shop to get that fix and expect to spend up to several hundred bucks. That repair job is worse than anything that I've done yikes.

On a far away planet reading your posts in the year 10,191.

I would gladly pay a hundred if I can find somebody with the proper skills to undo the embarrassing mistake (I kinda made a big scene when I saw it) and fix her up. I man can dream.

The second isa slot (as seen from the pci slots) seems to make a short circuit on the edge of the slot. You can see some metal touching each other in the slot.
And it looks as if a solder gun has been lying on top of those molten chips. I hope it is repairable.

As for what happened, the damn Ni/Cd barrel battery leaked and damaged the side of the board. I took it to a local shop to get it fixed with some new chips ( he has done great work on other things so I didnt think much of it) and got this abomination. I knew it was going to be a long shot to fix it but I still paid $60. For this..

Wait you payed for that work? Id take them to small claims court or something and get your money and some extra for damages if they don't pay you back.

That solder job is an abomination.

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

He should never have paid $60 for that pathetic work.

A blind man with one hand and three fingers could have done a better job.

I ended up replacing the MB, CPU, Ram, etc. It would have been nice to have the original unit up and running...Oh well. Thanks for taking interest in my frustration 🤣.

The Replacement:

MB: AB-PN5
DRAM: 16mb
HDD: 8gb (testing mostly)
CPU: IBM 6x86 P166+ 133Mhz
Audio: Sound Blaster CT2760 AWE32
Cache: 512kb

What video card did you use? I guess it's not a VLB 😁
6x86 and PN5 are cool to have, but sadly big goldie Socket 4 is much cooler... Maybe one day you will come across a Socket 4 mobo if you are not fixed on the particular model. Oh and VLB on a Pentium platform is bad ass cool.

I am still using my S3 trio 64. Ive had it since day one so im a little attached to it. My main plan was to install a VLB on that Pentium but with the circumstances and all.
