Hiya, I have Wizardry Gold, a Windows game. Apparently, it is made for slower processors, because of how freakin' fast the text is when I talk to someone. I've looked for fixes on it. But the only one I found was a battle speed fixer, I installed that, and it made each round in battle about 3 seconds long x_x;. Basically, the problem is, I go up to someone, during while they talk, if the text sorta scrolls, it goes by in about half a second, and the only way to know what they are saying is to turn speakers up loud, yet, sometimes it is hard to understand. And I think this problem occurs from too fast of a processor, if my computer is to be at 90% processor usage, it goes at a just slightly fast speed. Does anyone know of a fix for the problem? Or a program that slows windows programs down? I use Wizardry 7 at the moment, but DOSBox is giving me hell for some reason with it. My compy specs should be in my signature,

AMD Athlon XP 2500+
Soyo KT600 Dragon Plus
ATi Radeon 9800 256 MB
Maxtor 200 GB
Western Digital 40 GB
512 MB PC2700 DDR RAM

I do not know of any normal solution... Stupid SirTech programmers had to screw up just this one minor, but important thing which makes the game unusable. In-game speed setting is usually useless.
I did not try any slow down programs in Windows (CPUKiller (?)), maybe they would help.

I once installed Virtual PC, installed Windows there and run the game there. It was ok then...

I've heard that there are some other bugs in the game as well - including a serious NPC-related bug (don't remember anything more about it though)

I prefer Wiz7 to WizGold because Wiz7 has real music in a few places and some of the WizGold graphics are more cartoony and anime-influenced. Kind of cool that they recorded voices for most of the text though.
