GF256 has the nostalgia factor because of hype and advertising, but yeah there isn't really a feature they have that stands out. The T&L is pretty useless, their anti aliasing is useless, they seem to run a bit jittery, S3TC support is fugly, AGP compatibility isn't great with non Intel chipsets, VGA signal is usually less than great. They are just a buggier, slower GeForce 2. And a super inefficient, less flexible form of GeForce 3. And that's just a flawed GeForce 4. 😎
