i was given a socket 7 motherboard from a friend, i recently posted about..
im looking for a case + psu to be able to put this system together! but im having trouble finding any AT cases that i like..
the ones on ebay are ok.. but i have some things to check out locally before i resort to that..
but if anyone has any linsk to share..
hopefully i always kinda wanted one i can set to show the 133Mhz or 75Mhz on the LED front panel..

i never had a nice case like that back in the day i went directly from my old packard bell 486 dx2 to an ASUS Pentium II (and then to a superMicro Pentium III) so i never actually had a first gen pentium system

if anyone knows anywhere i can get a AT style case that will fit this motherboard.. it has to have the old AT larger keyboard port.

I would suggest movesurplus but many people seem to have been "scammed" by never getting a response. So I guess locally or the ones on ebay really.

Amibay.....
Go to hardware for sale, and choose other. Then search for AT style cases by going through the sub-forum pages.
I know that at least one Vogon user, have AT cases for sale.

That said. If you really need an AT stylish case, you can resort to getting one of them really early era ATX cases.
Most of the times, they are beige. And if you do as I did, you can modefy the case/PSU to accept AT boards.
The really early ATX cases even support installing every type of AT and ATX boards out there.

What I did, was to buy a cheap ATX to AT power cable converter on eBay. And used an ATX motherboard power
extension cable to mod the converter. I simply made a new one, soldering and making use of all wires to and from
both end of the converter. On the ceap ones from china, they have not used all wires because of cost reduction.
Then I bought a cheap push button from eBay, and soldered it between green and black on the ATX psu.
Drilled a hole in one 5,25 inch drive bay cover, and mounted the push button in that. No real damage to the case.

The result was an ATX case, that can accept both ATX and AT boards, and a case that are era correct beige.
Led panels can be build too, as they are only hooked up to 5 volt. And is a static display. They do not measure
anything on the motherboard.

Don't eat stuff off a 15 year old never cleaned cpu cooler.
Those cakes make you sick....

I put my Ali Socket 7 board in a Cooler Master Elite 330-something case, of which I have four or five. No longer available on Newegg last time I looked, but I'm sick of the style anyway. I want something plain and black, with lots of front slots. Seems to be going for about $35 on other sites according to that which shall not be named.

hey guys
i managed to find an AT tower/case!!!!!!!
ill post more pics on it in a new thread for my new 586 build!
(see this thread: my 586 Build! (Socket 7 Mobo /w Baby AT Tower case))

i was lucky to get a new motherboard + PSU with the case
but no memory or cpu, which suits me fine - because that way
i can decide which to get... and this new mobo supports 2 dimm's
aswell as simms and its a Gigabyte board.. (well known brand)
