I found some old PCs at the dump last weekend, and one of them was a Compaq Prolinea. It's a real nice machine, solidly built, with a DX66, 12MB ram, and, most significantly, an onboard ET4000 instead of the usual garbage Cirrus Logic video chip. What it does not have, unfortunately, is the L2 cache module, which sit on a shortened PCI style slot. Are these cache modules hard to find? A quick search on Ebay has so far turned up nothing, but I have not had time to do a more thorough search.
Keep it or scrap it for the CPU and CD-ROM?
