I got offered a few Socket 370 cpus for next to nothing but strangely some of the cpus that normally had heatspreaders are delidded.

I suppose that is fine as coppermines have no spreader anyway but one of the cpus seems to lack a pin. I think its a Vss pin. I suppose the cpu would work fine like this? Its a Celeron 1000A so ı want it...

I'd throw no more than 10 bucks on that. If you are lucky you get three working CPUs, but I would buy it fully expecting that all of them may or may not function.

If my eyes worked properly it is missing a VTT pin, so it might work.

Yup, voltage and ground pins widely duplicated, it might put a current ceiling on it for overclocking (Which it might not have hit anyway due to other considerations.) but generally they will still work....

... however, to fend off Murphy, particularly if it works in one board, but not the one you most want it in, either do a socket trick or solder blob on backside of board to hook into nearest same volts pin, juuust in case they figured "oh, those are all connected in processor but we'll grab this one to power the X..."

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.
