I'm building a system and I want to use multiplier, cache and throttle tricks to get it to play DOS games at the right speed where too fast causes them to bug out. I don't know of such a list so if you know where I can find one that would be great but I'm basically looking for games that run fine on a 8086, but a 286 is too fast, games where a 386 is too fast and games that are...you get the idea. I want to try each generation; 8086/8088, 286, 386, 486, Pentium and Pentium II. I don't think there is anything higher than that...?

P.S. Are there any Windows games where a CPU might be too fast?

Thanks!

If you could try the MINGW 630 build of DOSBox on that hardware and provide feedback if it's usefull for old games with speed issues I'd appreciate it.

The MinGW build should work on a 486. (Tested with pcem), if you use dynamic core then you'll need 128mb of ram.

This is a P2 machine with DOS/Win98 so I wouldn't be using DOSBox.

AH, There it is. I thought I saw that before but it was a while ago. Thanks!
