A customer, knowing about my passion for restoring and using old hardware, gave me a couple of PCs belonging to her father: this is the first one, a mini-tower with motherboard ECS P6SET-ML, the legendary Celeron Mendocino 300A (OC monster at the times, one friend of mine used it daily @600mhz), 128MB RAM PC133. The motherboard supports both socket and slot. After the discovery of the Celly 300, I decided to clean and restore everything just this way, as a tribute to a CPU that I would have liked to have - just added a 20GB IDE HD and a new CD-Rom, since that old did not work well.

First comes smiles,
then lies.
Last is gunfire.

Was given 2 of these DELL 2007WFPb beauties, among other parts, by a nice fellow. Lots of inputs and 4:3 and 1:1 pixel mapping. Even has picture in picture and picture by picture, but doesn't seem to allow DVI and VGA simultaneously. One of the options has to be composite or s-video.

I have the 17 inch version of that hooked up to my main as a secondary display. Great monitors and the USB hubs that are built in are just amazing.

using the 24" one right now. Love the 1920x1200 resolution. I wish I could get a 2nd...

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

I'm loving my new LG IPS LED IPS225T right now. At first the blacks were horribly polluted with purple and I had artifacts with the disable but either my DVI port or cable was bad. Switching to an HDMI to DVI cable massively improved image quality, fixed 95 percent of the black pollution, improved the gamma ratio, and fixed the digital artifacting. Just played 3 hours of Shadows of Mordor, I swear some scenes looked better than the LOTR trilogy. Its not quite as vibrant as my ASUS was but the black levels are 10x better and 1080p vs 1440x900 is a huge improvement and th I wonder if these colors aren't more realistic anyways.

Also, a QX9650 @ 11x Multi which = 3.66GHz a 1.4125 volts is greased lightning for LGA775. Not a single stutter or lag incident today.

I'm somewhat in that club - Samsung 275T Plus - 27" 1920x1200 w/ composite, S-Video, component, VGA, DVI, HDMI, and USB hub. I've had it as my daily driver for nearly 10 years, and I don't know that I will ever find a modern replacement - not that I have looked.

Wow! That sound card/setup looks amazing... because at the very least - someone put a Yamaha DB50XG in it!

The dumpsters there are a fricking gold mine.

I found this last year, still haven't figured out what to do with it:

I don't even have the time or means to test all the stuff I'm hauling home from there, I'm just saving it from destruction.

Yup.

Sadly I'm going to graduate by next summer but I think I can still continue my dumpster raids with friends who are years away from completing their degrees.

It's a transputer with quad Inmos T800 CPUs. It's basically a compute card for 386-era computers.

that card is super neat. shame. I would Imagine it be all but worthless. That was probably $100,000 card back in 1989. Contact the guy that runs this website: http://www.turbomode.com/home I would imagine he would want that card. or at the very least tell you more about it.
