Bought this game in 2001 on EBAY, and it never worked since.
Loads fine in the beginning, but it crashes as soon as you start to race.

DirectX 7.1 And UP Required to RUN. Although by default this game can run at 1280X1024, this will cause alot of video cards such as Voodoo4 or above to crash and it is recommended to switch to a lower resolution.

I mainly use 1024X768 resolutions or lower if the game doesn't support it.

Video Card: Radeon 9800 PRO 128MB All The Way!!

Weird. Never crashed for me. I'll have to check it out again. When I did last test it, it was with a 9700.

Have you tried compatibility mode? Doubt it will do anything tho.

There's an unofficial XP patch at http://www.bhmotorsports.com/SBK2k1

I haven't actually tried this myself as I only have Superbike 2000. Just happened to notice they had this there (got the unofficial Viper Racing XP sound fix patch from this site).

Yeah, it says It's a NO_CD patch. But I can actually run the game, untill playing it actually. Then it bombs.

I tired it and read the instructions. Same.

I found the game to lock up a lot, the fix was to go into the game folder and delete mssa3d.m3d and mssa3d2.m3d from the Superbike 2001/Miles folder. These are 3D sound files and cause the game to crash for some reason... that fixed the game locking up after the intro video for me!

My PC spec: Win10 64bit, i7-4970K (not overclocked), KFA2 GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER, Creative Soundblaster ZXr, 16GB RAM, Asus Z97-A motherboard, NZXT 410 case, ROG Swift GSYNC monitor

Those look like they're probably A3D drivers/plugins for Miles Sound System. Weird.

UPDATE:

Patch found (unoffical). http://ftp.hercules.com/video/exe/KYROBASED/S … _2001_Patch.exe

For anyone else who wants to play this game without it crashing, use this patch.

Works on AMD, INTEL, all processors.

Just a quick question. How are suppose to accelerate and break if you don't have proper breaking controls?
If you press a top trigger, it accelerates all the way which makes you prone to crashing. It should be setup exactly like the PS/2 or the XBOX way as it's the most realistic control out there.

Has anyone got a XBOX controller's analog triggers to work on this game?

Thank You
