Still on a 440BX, replaced V5500 with a V3500, and it's slightly faster:
With 4136 3DMarks and 8076 CPU 3DMarks (VIA C3 EZRA-T @ 1200 MHz, 133x9).
Still on a 440BX, replaced V5500 with a V3500, and it's slightly faster:
With 4136 3DMarks and 8076 CPU 3DMarks (VIA C3 EZRA-T @ 1200 MHz, 133x9).
Same 440BX and V3500, swapped CPU to a Coppermine-128, unlocked Celeron:
Celeron clocked @400MHz (system reports 2x Multi, 200MHz FSB?)
3806 3DMark, 6421 CPU 3DMarks.
Same unlocked Coppermine-128 Celeron and V3500 on 440BX:
CPU clocked @ 1066 MHz (133x8).
7065 3DMark, 14779 CPU 3DMarks.
Same as above, but CPU downclocked:
CPU clocked @ 266MHz (66 MHz FSB is interpreted @ 133 MHz FSB, 2x Multi).
2477 3DMarks, 4252 CPU 3DMarks.
As above, but disabled L2 cache using Setmul:
1782 3DMarks, 3759 CPU 3DMarks.
This is the slowest I can run 3D Mark 99 with this Coppermine-128 Celeron; tried running at 50MHz FSB, but the benchmark wouldn't complete. This maybe due to the AGP bus being underclocked.
put back together a Compaq from 2000 with all the stock software/drivers, Trident Blade 3d IGP from the Via MVP4 with 128MB sdram at 97MHz (512K onboard cache); K6-2 533
at least it seems to render all OK, I wonder how it compares to a discrete Trident Blade 3d.
R128Pro about 3220
V28MB about 2730
CPU about 3920
unregistered 800x600x16
Update with fsb@112, CPU 448mhz
R128Pro - 3597
V2 - 2848
CPU - 4397
ATrend ATC 6220 + PII400 + 256MB RAM PC133 + Ati Rage Fury Pro 32MB + Creative Labs Voodoo2 8MB + Aztech 2320 + Win98SE
Two questions.
1) Is there a way to unlock a 1920*1080 resolution in 3DMark99?
2) Is there a way to remove 60 FPS lock in both game tests (race & shooter)?
Did anyone ever get benchmark results with Intel graphics and an AIMM? It was a little memory card that plugged into an AGP slot. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AGP_Inline_Memory_Module
I have a 3dmark99 score from a Pentium III-933 with i815 graphics without AIMM. It was 2044 3Dmarks and 13144 CPU 3Dmarks. I was wondering how much of a difference the extra memory buffer would make...

Hello.
Has anyone experienced a problem where the benchmark is clearly running perfectly but you get 0fps?
Oddly enough in my case, this only happens with a VIA C3 Nehemiah cpu, all other hardware remaining unchanged.
Same motherboard, same video card, same drivers.
C3 Ezra-T and P-III CPUs run perfect.
AMD Athlon Slot A 1GHz with 3dfx Voodoo4 4500 AGP 166MHz default clock.
Intel Penitum III E Coppermine 1GHz SL4KL System with GeForce4 Ti 4200 128MB and Voodoo 2 SLI 12MB.
GeForce4 Ti 4200
Voodoo 2 SLI
Quick run on my XP rig. Ignore the OC shown in the screenshot, turns out it didn't actually apply (it's set to only turn on when a 3D program is running and it never tripped). Result file is attached as well to show that it's not a tampered with score. Only things of note is that I had to install the 3DM patch found on the forum elsewhere + run in 98 compat mode (of course) as well as disabling VSync globally from within CCC. Can't help but feel that 98 compat mode is really hurting my CPU score somehow (other than limiting itself to just one CPU which I'd expect) seeing as I'm about 3000 points shy of just a single 1.4GHz P3, though I'm not sure how 3DM99 scales with clocks so for all I know that could be completely normal.

The x600 is a beast of a gaming card for Windows 98. Great performance and compatibility for how cheaply the card can be had.
Here's the results from a Toshiba Satellite 4080XCDT laptop. It has an integrated 3D accelerator which rivals the S3 ViRGE by performance

Yes, I see the same problem with 3DMark 99 Max on modern AMD Ryzen platforms both with AMD and nVidia video cards. No fix found though.
I made a video showing the issue: https://youtu.be/bmdhu_dl94k
