My computer is currently set up on a LAN with other computers (at college). Is there a way with DOSBox to trick a game into thinking that that connection is actually a serial port connection (i.e. on COM1, COM2, etc.)? Second question, does anyone know what NetBIOS is? On the game Syndicate: American Revolt, it says it supports 2-8 players using "NetBIOS." Can DOSBox work with that?

Thanx,
Buzz

PS - I can post specifics about my computer as the newbie-guide requests, but I didn't feel it related to this problem.

I've seen some COM->TCP programs on the net but I don't have any links handy.

DosBox can already to Modem->TCP and IPX->TCP...don't think it does COM tho.

DosBox only emulates IPX/SPX with no NETBIOS support so if your going to want to use NETBIOS then you'll have to do it on your host or under VPC/Vmware/Qemu/Bochs.

Hint: Modem is COM.

If the game supports direct serial connect it probably also supports modem.

I'm surprised that DOSBox has built in modem emulation but not direct serial, since it seems the latter would be easier to emulate.
