Hello
MSI K8MM-V(2005) FSB 800 motherboard. BIOS: PHOENIX 6.00(2005).
I had previously installed RAM 512MB. RAM BIOS voltage 2.6V
Slot 1.) TWINMOSS M-Tec PC3200(CL2.5) 512MB DDR-DIMM 2.6V MFG.2005
MODEL No.=M2G9J16A-MK
-> It worked as OK CPU-Z memory frequency is 200mhz(400)

Then I upgraded to total 2GB and forced to lower RAM BIOS Voltage to 2.5V for these RAMs to work
Slot 1.) HYNIX ECO PC3200U-30330(CL3) 1GB DDR-DIMM 2.5V MFG.2007
Slot 2.) HYNIX ECO PC3200U-30330(CL3) 1GB DDR-DIMM 2.5V MFG.2008
MODEL No.=HYMD512646DP8J-D43 AA-C
-> In CPU-Z these 2 worked as memory frequency of 160mhz(=333)
Are these HYNIX-ones wrong memory combs and do I have to buy 2.6V combs to reach the max.200mhz(400) full speed ?

What if you raise the voltage to 2.6V for the hynix sticks?

2.6V Tried it. The computer started but screen was black. HDD light stayed ON. 2.5V was OK but 160 on CPU-Z.
-> It is running on integrated graphics GPU at the moment. Will an added graphic card (which is on a post truck at the moment) fix the problem ?
-> There is also 2.55V selection ? ( 2.4..,2.5V,2.55V,2.6V )

Ok. I might remember seeing that selection...I'll see that when I get home.
Yesterday I quickly used the BIOS and changed just the RAM voltage 2.6V->2.5V.
( First I though that 4 usd$ China memory is broken but online HYNIX data sheets showed 2.5V and it started but with RAM frequency 160mhz(333) only )

What happens if you install only one of the modules instead of both?

Black screen if used BIOS 2.6V on HYNIX 2.5V 1pc or 2pcs.
Haven't tried HYNIX 1pc on 2.5V just HYNIX 2pcs on 2.5V 160(333).

Original 1pc TWINMOSS 512mb showed 200(400).

That's limitation of an early Athlon64 (Socket 754). Even with 2T command rate you can't run two double sided sticks at full speed, at least not officially and not on 130nm CPU.

I must be some kind of standard: the anonymous gangbanger of the 21st century.

Processor is 90nm. Now Sempron 2800+. Post brings Athlon 64 Venice 3200+ soon.
If double sided is the problem.
Does one sided DDR400-DIMM PC3200 1GB RAM exist or is it rare ?

I just looked "Low Density"-designation for combatibility. 😢
- What RAM to buy 1GB PC3200 400 one sided on Ebay.com ?

Maybe single sided modules exist as ECC memory for servers (very late production), but that's unlikely.

It is my 2nd spare computer for large IDE HDDs and bulky IDE "Tapeworm=Lapamato[in finnish]" cables 😀
My modern PC's motherboard does only have thin Sata cables.

I might buy a new pair of 2x1GB 2.6V(CL2.5) ones on ebay.com for 10€ if it will solve the problem. These 2.5V(CL3) might cause this error.
I try to avoid those DDR1 CL2 gaming RAMs such: Corsair platinum, OCZ-memories, etc... are too high voltage >2.8V so they might not work on this main board...

Can 2.7V,2.8V run on 2.6V.
My Twinmoss 2.6V runned at 2.5V so... ?
