As far as production sound cards go, look up the Yamaha SW1000XG. It has a 20MB sample bank.

For midi daughterboards, there is the Terratec Producer WAVE XTABLE with a 16MB sample bank.

For virtual instruments, there is the Terratec Producer WAVE XTABLE VI

HI.
I'm looking for a possible "Best Solutions" for palyback and recording of XG Midi file.
I've purchased (but i'm still waiting for) a Yamaha MU-2000 but searching on internet I've found for example this: Yamaha S03 and reading specifications, this seem to be AWM2 Synthesys compatible with Yamaha XG Standard. Now, this synth seem to have a 24MB wavetable instead of the "only" 4MB of the MU2000. Maybe thare are other "better" and still "affordable" price Synth for XG Reproduction produced by yamaha and you know about these and would like to share...

Are you sure about those numbers? I'm quite certain the 2000's 4MB bank you refer to is specifically for it's Sampler.

The MU2000 is definitely the best option. You can upgrade it via software to the "MU2000EX" as well, which adds some patches, I forget which (Roland GS according to Wiki).

It is a really good sound module. Make sure to hook it up via optical digital if possible, it sounds far better than the analog outputs.

The SC-8850 around the same time had about 20MB internal samples, so it would be similar for the MU, likely higher than 20 because the MU100 already had that amount. The 4MB refers to the sampler's wave memory.

"equivalent to x Mb in linear 16-bit conversion" does not mean it has 25 Mb of space for its sound bank, it likely means that the unconverted source used for the PCM was 25 Mb.

Considering the year of release (2001), it would be rather unusual for it to have that much memory, especially since it's fairly low end.

Looking at the specs for the actual XG MIDI, the synth likely uses the same chip as many other low-end XG boxes (because they all have the exact same effect block and similar numbers of voices).

If you'd want an AWM2 box that was high end, you'd be looking at a MOTIF (and second-hand prices up to 800 bucks).

But are motif full compliant with XG midi? I'm not found this king of information on internet. Maybe Tyros, but for the youtube channel i'm going to implements it's a little bit of budget 🙁

MOTIF is not XG compatible AFAIK, except by using a specific expansion board.

Have you tried looking in the manuals for those synths? You may also want to look at Yamaha's PSR range of home keyboards, which are more likely to be based around a XG wavetable than Yamaha's real synthesizers. Perhaps try to find the PSR-9000 Pro, as it is a very high end PSR keyboard that is absolutely loaded with features...
