Can you elaborate on those? It was some time ago that I did such a cable, but I don't remember using any resistors or bothering with audio in.

The C64 av cable is fun to make. Though the SD2IEC, then I went for a ready made one from eBay. It sits directly on the back of the machine, on the ports. And it has a connector, so I can hook up a real floppy drive as well. Really a nice thing and I can highly recommend them.

They are black, has SD2IEC written in the case and they are being sold from spain.

Now the seller is producing them in white. Not cheap, nor expensive. Just right for a brand new product like that.

The resistor is for modern LCD displays (monitors, TV sets, etc) that can be too bright on the Chroma (Color) signal, and jumping pin 5 (audio in) to pin 2 (ground) makes the noise reduce since it can be too noisy.

I did make the cable to some success, except I have to fiddle with the cable to get it to work (I didn't put the wiring in the open slots in some spots), and the audio out doesn't work since I didn't put the wiring in the open holes for the pins. Ah, ok. When I connected my C64 to PC's video-in card (VC100 XP) and used a CRT monitor I didn't notice any chroma problems.

I'm using a Sony PVM-9L1 that has s-video and audio, but broken composite (BNC). Going to make a special cable for that one as well.

Edit: rebuilt the cable again, but it needs more work (so close, yet so far). Still have to fiddle with the cable, but on the plus side, the audio works, and I have jailbars on my display, so my plan is to just solder the RCA and s-video cables directly to the pins on the DIN connector.

Made a 100% functional A/V cable with noise reduction and clearer S-video (300 Ohm resistor soldered onto Pin 6) and composite signal for my C64 with "stereo" audio as well. New video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rjck5SRsKIk and I have to say, I'm proud of myself for getting the cable to function thanks to bloggers and advise from people on forums for both the DIY A/V cable and testing the SID chip. Going to use my USB Dazzle video capture card to capture footage from the C64 and posting it on YouTube. Next thing I'm going to make is going to be an IEC to Arduino Uno R3 with 3x 100 Ohm 1/8W resistors and make the 1541 emulation for games. If there's a way to make a cartridge version, much like the cartridge style floppy diskette drive for the Commodore Plus/4 and 16 (and 116) for faster load times, I'd be happy since IEC transfer rates are low (using a FastLoad cartridge + JiffyDOS in the near future would suffice).

Waiting for my LumaFix64. Hopefully it will arrive within the next week. It will be needed, as I am in the process of setting up an LCD tv for both of my Amiga's and my C64. It will be used for DVD and/or Blueray playback as well. Plus it has VGA input. For the Amiga's I am going to use the two Scart input that are on the TV, and finally, I have Component for the best Playstation2 signal quality.

The setup is for both me and my son.

Regarding C64 Storage. Then why go through all that hazzle of using an arduino? On eBay you can buy various digital replacements with flash technology and or SD card. For cartdridge, you can get an easyflash. Floppy can be replaced with an SD2IEC and the Datasette can be replaced with an MP32C64 in combination with an smartphone.
