Well, I've never been through the process myself, but I believe the worst is over once the wedding preparations are done. 😀

Congratulations, and I wish all the best to you and your future spouse.

All hail the Great Capacitor Brand Finder

Thanks everyone, married life so far is great!

Showerthought: what if A3D could be added to Xash3D FWGS, XL-Engine or openDarkEngine?

It can just code for the A3D 3.0 A3DAPI like normal.

Crystal Dream doesn't work on the original Aureal DOS drivers.
But works on the new ones.

Sadly no, they aren't ready for prime time yet 😀 but progress is always a good thing.

BUMP!!!

Also this.

Btw, how in the hell has ZanQuance youtube channel been emptied of all the nice A3D recordings?

They are just marked as private but still on the account. They were recorded from XP and had those annoying crackles in the WaveTracing, the HRTF sounded odd too. Hardly a good example of A3D, so I tucked them away.
The Win 98/ME ones I had were so slow and choppy, I don't have any capture card to record at a faster frame rate, so I took those down too once PhilsComputerLab uploaded much better ones.

As far as news goes, I'm working out the bugs in the DOS driver.
I updated the first post with some details, but suffice to say the only things not working are some Protected mode games and ADPCM, everything else seems to be operating within normal parameters.

Hello,

i am new here and first i want to say all the work on the awesome Aureal Cards is great. I have one but afte years she is dead now . Wish i could find a good card for a fair price to give her a new home and life.

I hate Creative for killing Aureal and there is all the knowhow, looks like the only point was to kill aureal.

Hope to get many news and a great time here.

[edit2]
Okay I got it working correctly this time. Use the pinout reference for the I2S/SPDIF jack I posted above and connect the 1.63v sclk to the DACs S/PDIF input.

What pinout reference is he referring to here?? I am making a SPDIF board for my Montego II and I need the pinout for that jack. It don't see anything posted in this thread that's like that.

edit: To be clear, I'd like to know:

  • what the actual i2s i/o pins are
    • system clock
    • bit clock
    • word clock
    • data in
    • data out
  • bit length of a sample (18-bit, 20-bit, etc.)
  • Sample rate (I assume 44100hz)
  • Multiplier for bitclock (I assume 64fs)
  • Multiplier for System clock (I see 128fs being thrown around, but I'm not sure)
