I have wondered, if cdrom caddies are generic to the extend that they can be used across different makers of different drives. Like using the same caddie on both a plextor and a yamaha drive.

Don't eat stuff off a 15 year old never cleaned cpu cooler.
Those cakes make you sick....

As for Plextor and Yamaha, yes - they adopted the caddy design from Sony (which became the standard anyway). There were a very few early drives using custom caddies, but those are very rare.

So basically. Any standard looking cheap ones on ebay is a go? I have however noticed that most have the latch in the middle, yet a few have a bit of a different design.
