Cannot Get Soundblaster Live to Play Nice With FX5200

Once upon a time my PNY Verto FX5200 lived happily beside my soundblaster live! Ct4760 in my Compaq Presario 5003US. Then one day I decided to move the cards around a bit to improve airflow. Big mistake. Ever since then, I’ve been getting the following error message. Ten OS reinstalls, 50 driver reinstalls, a rom flash and constant moving around of the cards and I cannot for the life of me get them to work together. Where am I going wrong here? I know it’s those two cards because when I remove the sound blaster, the video card works fine. When the video card isn't working because of the conflict, the sound card works fine. I've tried swtching around the IRQ assignments in the BIOS but it made absolutely no difference. I've attached pictures of the error. Hoping somebody can help!

Since both are pnp cards on a pnp os i don't think that reserving irq would resolve, can you tell which onboard hardware you have enabled?

Everything except the onboad audio and graphics.

The last picture that you posted you had onboard audio and, audio deviceand smbus sharing the same interrupt, maybe that, to be honest i don't know for sure, i'm just guessing.

Sorry, at the time of taking the photo, it was on, but I ultimately turned it off. It doesn't seem to matter though as I get the error whether or not I have it on or off.

Yeah, same deal when I put everything back the way it was when it was working, even if I reset the bios.

One of the pictures seems to indicate a memory conflict with part of the BIOS' ACPI functions. Did you change any BIOS settings related to that or any memory settings?

Nope, this is coming off a bios set to defaults and a fresh install of Windows 98.

But were the settings the same in the original situation where both cards worked?
