Also on hackaday: https://hackaday.com/2017/10/09/a-converter-y … o-serial-mouse/
i wanted to put everything on http://retroianer.de also including schematic and pcb files. hopefully i will find the time.
Working on internal mount, now with 3d printers, everything changes.. 😁
This is the converter mounted inside my 8088 Computer.
internal connected to Multi I/O Controller.

That looks amazing, man.

Full GPL Firmware is now on Github, including Sourcecode, feel free to improve, report back bugs etc.
Firmware:

PCB files will follow.

Now it should work.

Eagle PCB files added.
Now you can make your own, or maybe improve it.

Did you make any progress concerning pointer lag when using certain KVM's?
Plan your life wisely, you'll be dead before you know it.

One note: I tried uploading to aisler and OSH park, but both complain. Aisler because of the dimensions layer not having any PCB boundaries (I think they are in the Dimension layer in your file), and OSH park has multiple complaints.

Not really, i just use a KVM that works.
But the Firmware is opensource, maybe one with more knowledge can help ? 😳

i don't have any idea, i just used dirtypcbs and it worked fine for me.
Its also cheaper then oshpark.
Because you get 10 pcbs 5x5cm for 16,95$.

Ok, thanks for the info. I might order there as well, but I haven't yet given up on using one of the other providers. I have a minimal fix on the PCB (distance from one trace towards a solder pad) and I might generate some gerber files for other PCB providers.
I will make a pull request once I have this all working... 😉
you may want to fix the powerconnector too, + and - are swapped. 😀

Do you mind if I redraw the schematics (and eventually merge it with XT/AT keyboard converter)? As it is, it's rather... funny 😀
Do what ever you want, everything is GPL 😀
i also would like a ultimate XT Converter 😁

I have now a version of the Eagle PCB file that works at Aisler. 😉 However two things come to my mind:
1) I have never used an ATtiny before. I guess I need some kind of programmer device for this?
2) Since I only need one adapter: Does anyone still have kits, before I start ordering my own at Aisler and Mouser?
hopefully dreamblaster will make a series and sell them at serdaco shop 😀 so there is a place in future where you can get this converter device easily.
i'm pretty sure someone will take the leftovers.

You can simply wire the ATTiny2313 to the LPT Port and program it with avrdude 😀
few resistors are recommend but not needed.

I have created a Mouser project for the BOM:
https://www.mouser.com/ProjectManager/Project … ssID=86005d505b
I haven't ordered nor built anything yet, so please double check if I selected all the correct components! Feedback welcome, I will change the project accordingly.
Furthermore, there is now a project for the PCB over at Aisler:
My PCBs are scheduled for manufacturing, but I haven't gotten them either, so you might want to wait until I receive them and can test them, if they are actually fine. 😉
