I just booted a pc and the letters in DOS appear of CYAN color
not white

is that because there is something wrong with the red pinout of the vga connector? has anyone ever had this problem? can it be fixed?

Red color in the VGA cable/connector/monitor isn't working if all else is discolored too. Replacement of the cable can be done although it isn't very easy. Fixing a cable is near impossible. Try wiggling it at the point where it connectso to computer and to the monitor. I have seen many monitors where the cable is damaged at the monitor end.
