I'm confused as to the true nature of Tandy. Was it a different computer than IBM? Or was it just an IBM with specific hardware (Tandy video card, Tandy sound card)? Since there's Tandy emulation in DOSBox, I believe it was an IBM computer. I have the KQ1 Tandy booter, and it works under DOSBox only when it's set to machine=tandy, so at first I thought Tandy was a different computer. But I also tried SQ3, and this game works when machine=vga AND when machine=tandy. Of course, I have to choose the relevant configuration for the game by running INSTALL.EXE. So I guess Tandy IS basically an IBM machine. So, what's the truth?

And if I'm on the subject, when I ran the configuration program for SQ3, I saw that the game has a support for Tandy 1000 SL, TL, HL series sound card, but when I choose it and run the game under DOSBox (when machine=tandy) the game kinds of hangs at the beginning. Will this sound card be emulated in future versions of DOSBox? I think what's emulated currently is only the regular Tandy 1000 sound.
And another thing - what is the PCjr? Will DOSBox support it one day in the future?

The Tandy 1000 is basically a clone of the IBM PC Junior.

And what's the IBM PC Junior? Wikipedia is your friend.

Ok, thanx. Now what about the other stuff I wanted to know?

I'm not that experienced with Tandy sound but don't all those versions of Tandy use the same sound? 3 Voice DAC?

Weird, my ver of SQ3 doesn't have Tandy support. It's from 1990 tho.

Also PCJR support probably would depend on demand........I would prefer seeing all of the DOS games running correctly with just straight PC's before we start worrying about others.

I currently only have access to the SQ Collection version of SQ3, and it doesn't have Tandy support. The original version may, however, but I don't have a 5.25" floppy drive to access it with.
