Had a look around on the 'net and can't find any information on this; as the title says, is it possible to patch this game to run in a higher resolution? By default, it is fixed to 512x384, and I assume this is so it can run on the 4MB Voodoo1 card; but on my Voodoo2 cards I'd love to run it at 640x480 or even 800x600 if possible. Has anyone reverse engineered / worked out how to patch the executable to run in a different resolution?

Cheers,
Rich

For anyone out there still struggling with this:

Ign_3dfx mode is actually 640x400 (not 512x384 )--at least for the 3rd revision of the official 3dfx patch (aka the voodoo2 patch), which is the only one I tried.

The Windows executable Ign_win.exe will actually output 640x480 & 800x600... although in a somewhat non-standard format(recommend using v6.56 official patch). And I would argue that this is the best way to play the game. But it usually onlly works on a Retro PC.

If you REALLY want hardware acceleration, or even higher resolutions, on a modern PC you can use the 3dfx mode with nGlide, and set yourself whatever resolution you want directly from nGlide. The game will be stable for the most part, and you will have a very nice experience.

P.S. for RedBook audio to work, you need to set your virtual CD Drive as B:\
