I was in the middle of playing Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 on my ultimate Windows 98SE machine, and when I clicked on Quit to menu to change the car controls, the system hung for a few seconds and rebooted.
The display showed artifacts at the POST screen and when the OS was booting and checking the HDD for errors (like always). I then put my GeForce2 MX400 card in place of the GeForce 6200 for the time being, checked to see what the issue was, replaced the thermal compound after cleaning off the old stuff on both the heatsink and the GPU die itself, and I even tested the GPU fan using a 9V battery and some wiring (it still works). How can I give the GPU better airflow to prevent it from overheating? I also downclocked my VooDoo2 card to 75MHz for both Glide and Direct3D since it's installed on an AMD Athlon 64 motherboard.
