Of games that supported Glide & Software -- no OpenGL or DirectX -- and exempting those games that were meant to be run specifically on an original Voodoo, would the texture quality be the same on a Voodoo 2/3 as it would on a Voodoo 5?

Have tested around 350 glide games. Only "minigl" ones use the TEXFMT extension.

Asus P4P800 SE/Pentium4 3.2E/2 Gb DDR400B,
Radeon HD3850 Agp (Sapphire), Catalyst 14.4 (XpProSp3).
Voodoo2 12 MB SLI, Win2k drivers 1.02.00 (XpProSp3).

Yes it'd be the same because back then the Glide 2.x API only supported power-of-2 texture sizes up to 256x256 and there'a rarely ever a uncompressed texture beyond that size in the Glide days. I think Unreal had a few 512x512s (vandora for example) but they always get resized to 256x256 before Glide gets them. Renderer module implementations for Glide always had to do their own texture management
