Hi,
Yesterday I reinstalled my dualboot Windows 3.11 and 98 PC. Installed network drivers (Realtek RTL8139D), TCP/IP, display drivers and everything was fine. Configured TCP/IP to use DHCP. The NIC got an IP address and I could FTP to my server on the network.
Today I started the PC and it froze at the 3.11 splash screen. Wtf I thought So I REM'd some stuff in my config.sys and autoexec.bat files (mscdex, cdrom.sys, smartdrv, ifshlp). Still nothing.
Using win /N works, but this obviously disables networking. Setting up a static IP also doesn't work.
No idea where to look further other than reinstalling the NIC drivers, but maybe someone here has a better idea. Before reinstalling the PC I never had this problem and nothing has been changed hardware wise.
