Remember my other posts about NFS3? Good.

I wanted to buy a Voodoo2 1000 PCI (3d Accelerator).. So I did

And when I installed NFS3 on a WIN98SE computer, it worked fine on Direct3D.

Frame rate wasn't that bad, but I think I'll go with a SLI setup later on.

Anyways

I wanted to run the 3DFX version of Need For Speed 3 which ofcourse uses GLIDE.

It indicates that you must have Glide 2.43 or Higher. I am using Glide 2.56 so I thought it would be fine.

When I run the 3DFX setup, it says "There are No Drivers For the Conbination Of Hardware And Operating System."

Okay, I don't know what happened there, but I want to fall over.

I am using Voodoo2 V3.02.02 Drivers For Win98

System Specs for This PC Are:

Acer 1254 Desktop
Motherboard: V56la
OS: Windows 98 SE
Processor: AMDK6 233mhz With 3D NOW!!!!!!!
64MB EDO Ram
Voodoo2 1000 PCI 3D Accelerator

Any Suggestions? Thanks!

If memory serves there was a glide "patch" floating arpund that was basically opeining an .ini file (like 3dsetup.ini) in your Need for Speed directory and "forcing" glide...

I tried the -voodoo2 command at the end of the short cut which I never tried before. It was looking for a VOODOO2A.DLL file, so I guess I was running NFS3 in GLIDE.

But the 3DFX setup itself just never worked for some reason when you install the game.

I never saw the patch you were talking about, I only saw 1 and that wasn't for my problem.

Thanks for the Reply.
