For some reason the menu and movies work fine, but once you enter onto the maps it hardlocks the PC. I'm using a Voodoo II (detected by the game) with the lastest reference driver (3.02.02). Other DX games are working fine on Windows 98 SE, so I'm kinda confused. All the latest drivers are installed!

What motherboard and processor are you using? I recommend the FastVoodoo 4.6 drivers if above a Pentium MMX.

Also, this thread is for getting games to run in modern Windows, such as XP, Winbloat Vista, 7, 10 (8-8.1 were meant for tablets).

A Fujitsu BX motherboard with a 450Mhz PIII.

Sorry, I assumed wrong on the forum type!!

I'll give the FastVoodoo drivers a try, but the readme says something about using MesaFX?

I had similar issues with this game as it is quite finicky.

Here's what my notes say:

For Voodoo2

Use drivers 30300, anything later breaks the game.

For Voodoo3
Use drivers 10300DX6

Unfortunately, Voodoo4 & V5 will not run the game 🙁.

Note that this should be posted in Marvin. This forum is for old Windows games on modern systems, not old systems or old Operating Systems.

That driver gave me a black screen 🤣.
Ah man. Voodoo II is nice & quick, but the Permedia II's drivers are more reliable!! :3

"tshoot.exe" in Dark Omen folder == graphic card trouble shooting switches... but I don't know if any of them help here.

Yeah, I need to play around with that. I got Dark Omen to run on a POS ViRGE with it!!
