I realise this is neither useful or indeed practical to windows 98se ..
and I actually dont want more than 512mb ..when booting 98se
BUT
I intend to make my system dual O/S with 98se and XP ..which will benefit from having more ram.
it would be a pain if every time I wanted to use XP I had to pull ram.
So the object of this excercise is to physically max out my ram slots to 1.5gb but restrict 98se access to the ram to 512mb which I believe is the upper practical limit ..but leave 1.5gb available when I install the HD sled/caddy holding XP.
So ..what do I need to be aware of doing this ..? ..and will the system be stable.
Can someone please advise me.
As far as I know this is practical ..but are there unforseeable issues I might encounter ?
Is just adding this line MaxPhysPage=40000 to win 98se system .ini sufficient ?
