On my thrifting adventures, I purchased a Power Player Super Joy III with the second controller, minus the light gun, power adapter, A/V cable, and battery pack for a few USD.
However, last night when I tested it, there was no signs of life (no video), and the battery pack was corroded since the previous owners left them in there. However, I removed the corrosion in the battery pack, as well as the leads that the springs go onto for powering the device on, as well as the logic board for the Super Joy III main controller.
Now comes the close, but, no cigar part: after cleaning the corrosion off, the console sprang to life, but, no video (or there will be color, patterns, such as lines, dots, or bricks). I thought it was because of my 43" TV set that didn't like it, but, the Atari plug and play controller I have works with it without issues. So, once I get home, I'm going to do further testing and check for cracked/cold solder joints and fix it.
The console also has an NES cartridge slot as well. Also, malls did sell these back in 2003-2004, Nintendo found out about it, and they ceased production after the FBI compensated every kiosk around the world, but, since 2006, they are being sold at flea markets or second hand stores.
Also, some units lose the connection for the video, which might be my case, and I'm going to solder the wire to the end of the jack and onto the board (other side), as well as the audio just in case.
