I found a very cheap "5EMA+ 1.0" motherboard
Super socket 7 motherboards that are atx are rare to find.
but the way Soyo handled their different versions and revisions is a pain in the ass

For example i see multiple revisions of the same motherboard, some are :

5EMA+
5EMA+ 1.0
5EMA+ PRO

does anyone know what the differences are in each one? since soyo is dead its hard to find info.

I have several Soyo SY-5EHM Super Socket 7 motherboards.
Good boards with good bios for down clocking the CPU and easy setup.
But the Capacitors are cheap.
I have three failed boards already that need repair.
Mainly capacitor replacement.
On one the keyboard connector came loose.
Needs re-soildering.

Using them with AMD k6-3 550mhz CPU's.

I need to order New capacitors and repair.

Capacitor # and quantity.
( 7 ) 1500uf 6.3v
( 1) 100uf 6.3v

that is quite a nice board, baby AT board. The version with 1mb is one of the most wanted.

The downside of it is the format, when you try to instal dual voodoo cards or pci cards that are too large, you see that you can´t because the cpu is right next to the pci slot.

those green caps are almost the same on my 5EMA+ 1.0 board. I might just replace them even if they look fine on my board.
but i would like to know why there are so many versions of 5EMA+

i think i found the answer

5ema had 1mb SRAM on board and ultra dma 33 , Supports up to 512MB EDO and SDRAM
5ema+ had 1mb SRAM on board and ultra dma 33, Supports up to 768MB EDO and SDRAM
5ema PRO: had 512k SRAM on board and ultra dma 66 , Supports up to 768MB EDO and SDRAM

Yeah, It is mainly the large green caps that go bad.
