Does anyone know what year was 12Mhz 80286 cpu released?
Looks to me like 1985.
All the Intel ones I see have copyright dates of '82 , '85.
That is one thing I am confused about if all speeds of 80286 were released on same year or not. I got my first pc ever in 1988 and it was 80286 12Mhz.
The 80286 had several releases (socalled steppings). By late 80s, models of 10 or 12MHz weren't unusual on consumer PC market.
Workstations had higher speed chips installed, even (I remember seeing some ads of old PC magazines).
