I have a Shuttle HOT-541 v2.5 that is missing the pins for what would be JP13, the Turbo switch. JP14's pins are still there, for the Turbo LED, and I haven't yet checked to see if it will light an LED depending on the system boot speed BIOS option setting or if it would respond only to the Turbo switch itself.

I think I can see some solder pads through the holes of the plastic which would ordinarily surround the pins, and wonder if it's worth the risk to use small pins, (like sewing needles) connected to each other by a wire (perhaps alligator-clip wires) just to see if bridging those solder pads would have an effect.

I probably would just use Landmark 6.0's chirp sound as a gauge as to whether the speed changes when the connection is bridged (I'd rather not have to look away from what I'm doing.

Is this the Worst. Idea. Ever. to even attempt to test it (lest I somehow short something out because those electrical connections don't do what they used to)? I'd love to have the Turbo working.
