Hello Vogons, I just want to share my soundfont with all of you. It is fully SC-88Pro compatible.

I just want to give a massive thanks to STGIGA for providing presets in his own soundfont. Check it out here: My new 4GiB soundfont for SC88Pro, XG1, CM-32L, works with BASSMIDI only

The size of my soundfont is nearly 4GB.

My soundfonts have a page on my website: https://sites.google.com/view/strixsoundfont

You can download my soundfont from here: https://musical-artifacts.com/artifacts/931

What's the point of an 88 Pro soundfont? Part of thing that makes the 88 Pro interesting is the filters and effects that can be applied onto it, without those you're missing half the point.

You've got on to the point I wanted to talk about: The InsertionEFX in the 88Pro. I really hope bassmidi adds 88Pro InsertionEFX support soon! That is just the last thing us gamers need to play games like touhou and pokemon composed on the 88pro perfectly!

The problem is, there's no reason for them to do that because you could just use Sound Canvas VA instead.

I think there is still a point, as with BassMIDI you can use your own samples instead of being forced to use Roland.
Also it's opensource.

Thanks again for the Soundfont Strix. I have some free time the next few weeks so I'm gonna check it out.

BassMIDI isn't OSS, otherwise I would be looking at recompiling it for the Raspberry Pi. (There is a Linux build, but it's x86/x64 only IIRC).

Agreed, It's not as open as I'd like it to be (weird non GPL licence), but it is open source. Also they do have a few people working on porting it to ARM http://www.un4seen.com/forum/?topic=13804.0
I haven't seen the full progress on this, but it's worth checking out.

Also I'm glad to see you fixed the permissions on the download Strix, I wasn't able to check it out yesterday because google wouldn't let me download it.
Seems to be downloading now though.

It would still need to be layered underneath BASSMIDI_SYNTH with who knows what problems in terms of build scripting. Not right now, thanks!

isn't it just one .c file in that? I don't think it'd take much work to update that code to work with the arm compatible source. (not really a coder here, so I might just be talking out my ass)

I do not want to be a party killer, but none of the core libraries of Bass are open source. They are free to use (to a certain extent), but not open source. Ian Luck never released the source code of Bass or Bassmidi libraries.
In the download packages you can only find the source code of example applications, the necessary import headers, and only the binaries of the given library...

I released version 3.50 of my soundfont with full SC-88 support. I completed the final 2 missing patches, Goblinson and Water Piano.
