Do they excist?
I would like to see one running 100fsb at a bx board 😀 if that is even possible.
It is a shame that the pictures seen at google do not show a zif socket 🙁

Oh, yes! They exist. But they don't work on BX boards as we already discussed here. 😢

Hmm, its got a Socket 8 Slotket..... and its EISA! The board uses the 440FX chipset.

Maybe it was part of an Asus P65UP5 board?
I think most likely it was a Proliant 5000 processor card, which is similar, but the processors are vertical rather than horizontal.
Socket 8 slotket's adapter. Used on ALR Revolution 2x server. Slotket's made by ALR (Advanced Logic Research)

How many tries was done to confirm this?
Couldn't it be just a single incompatability of specific MB/BIOS with PPro/slot1 adapter?
If someone can try it use POST card to see if it would start POST sequence or if it's totally dead.

i mean, 6 years is a bit long to resurrect a thread. Even if it does trigger my spidey-sense.
It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.
I have a socket 8 to slot 1 adapter incoming and plan to try it out with a 440BX board. Will post results.
@arti9m has an adapter that will work on 440BX boards: Re: Dual Pentium Pro Build Thread
Thanks, this I need to know! When it will be available, I'll like to make PCB myself...
