Hi folks,

My Digilogue collection was donated a very nice (gorgeous) Packard Bell corner computer. I will make a separate post about it. I am in the process of restoring, cleaning and setting it up. It has a "AZT3000 PnP Sound Card" as reported by Windows 95 at startup. It is an ISA card. I cannot seem to find drivers for this. Vogons drivers database has a big ZIP file from Aztech Labs but none of the folders seem to have anything to do with "AZT3000"

I've also spent time on the web looking for Win 95 drivers for said card and while I can find some they are usually downloaders that I do not trust to run.

Does anyone have any idea what is this card and where can I find Win95 drivers?

Instead of running blind on what Windows 95 tells you, focus on the card itself. Does it have any identifying marks? Most Aztech sound cards have an FCC-ID that identifies them. Failing that, which chip does it have? That is what determines the driver needed. ISA PnP sounds like an AZT2320 chip, which is very simple to get running if PnP itself is working correctly (big if with Win95 and mid 1990s hardware).

True enough. I took a look at the card. It is one of those made specifically for Packard Bell which contain AZT2320 chip but also have a modem (and no CD-ROM header). However I got lucky enough to actually have the Packard Bell Master CD which contains drivers for all the parts (I did not discover that until later). So now it is working. In Windows only, no DOS driver 🙁. But I think since it is a AZT2320 I should be able to find a DOS driver easily.

Either way I would like to contribute my drivers to vogonsdrivers.com. How do I go about getting a login account ?

PM SquallStrife (and hope that he sees it!).

(If he takes too long, upload to MEGA or somewhere and drop the link in the VOGONS Drivers topic and someone will possibly upload it on your behalf.)

If your system actually does the PnP correctly, you don't need drivers - this thing is 100% hardware Soundblaster Pro 2.0 compatible. You can use various installer programs, but basically all they do is help with PnP and add a SET BLASTER and SET GALAXY variable to your Autoexec.bat. If you can figure out which resources it has under DOS, just do your own SET BLASTER and you're good to go 😀
