let me check if I have any GALs left from the mpu project and I'll get back to you
I'm also interested. I'm based in EU

I can help too. Based in EU.

I just received the two CMS chips (moturimi1 sent me the programmed chip few weeks ago) and now I can confirm that it works flawlessly (sound blaster and adlib is still okay, and monkey island plays both channels with CMS). This will be a great card for my 386SX 25

In seeing how to get rev4 and up models working Ive socketed the chip and will swap them out to see what happens. As I figured the pinout continues to be the same across both board revisions.
A fixer of things. I also broke those things.
Wow that's dedication! Nice neat work there too well done.

very nice work indeed, please update us on the results!
I'd love to buy a programmed GAL to upgrade my 1350B. I'm near Pittsburgh PA USA zip code 16120 - if any of you with the programmers are watching; I can't see spending the cash to buy a programmer that I'll use one time.. 🤣
I've seen a few of you offer to do this via PM... though some of these replies are quite old so your offers may not be good anymore and I dont want to pester people...
I will send you one if someone from the US doesn't show up
It seems someone found how to make the GAL code universal and now works with both CT1336 and CT1336A controllers: https://www.ebay.ie/itm/283320542833
Makes sense to me , there are many CT1336A cards out there with factory pre-installed sockets, they would ditch them to save some pennies if the upgrade was not working... maybe CL sold a specific upgrade for these that is now lost... or planned to sell and did not bother.
I bought this upgrade for a SB2.0 I got with a system ~1 month ago - I was bummed it had the CT1336A controller but now it seems all is well again 🤣 🤣 🤣
Will report back when I receive the new upgrade 😀
Today I tested suntac's new cms gals, they work fine with both CT1336 and CT1336A controllers.
I even replaced the GAL on my CT1336 card 🤣
Excellent work suntac!
Wow that is cool! So just to confirm, this new GAL will work with any SB 2.0?
Life? Don't talk to me about life.
Yes, CT1336 or CT1336A controllers no longer matter - CMS will work with any of them 😀
That's terrible news! Now I have to spent more money!

I'm very thankful to goodtofufriday for sending me a programmed gal for my card with the CT1336 a couple years back. It works great, and I'm finally going to be able to incorporate it into a 386 system soon. It's nice to know that others will be able to enjoy CMS without having to find a specific revision of this card. 😀
Now for some blitting from the back buffer.
I'm wondering if anyone has a schematic of this section? According to the JED file, pin 14 of the GAL is the chip-select line of the OPL, so if there are problems with FM sound based on 0x220+8 and 0x220+9 access, it could have something to do with that.
I mean, I know someone already potentially solved this, I'm just curious. Pins 1 and 2 are chip-selects for CMS #2 and #1, and Pins 3 and 5 seem to be addressing, but whether they're already decoded by the bus interface chip or analogous to 0x220, I'm not sure. It's kind of weird that pin 2 is part of the OPL CS equation, but not 1? hmm. Or maybe not, since the OPL addresses are 8 (00001000) and 9 (00001001), which doesn't care about bit 1 -- which could be pin 1, with pin 2 being bit 0.

Excellent work suntac!
Hi guys, I just registered here to ask the question. I have two of CT1350B with CT1336A cards and a pile of required chips. I would like to get CMS working and, as far as I understand, there is a solution. However, the code to burn the GAL was not open sourced, right? Or can I download it somewhere?

^ you need to buy the GALs from suntac to get this new version , only the older CT1336-only version is free
