Hi, I need to use DOSBox to run some legacy dos software 'cause it's the only emulator that solves a problem I have with the APPEND command. Please could you recommend best DOSBox build - SVN, MegaBuild etc. - to run legacy dos software?
Any help much appreciated.

What sort of job are you dealing with?

If I had a simple task, I would use what works and what I'm familiar with. In this case, the official release of DosBox, even though it's apparently not recommended.

If I were dealing with a long and complex task, I might look for alternatives.

If I were doing a truly mission critical job, I might not use any emulator.

No matter what emulator or hardware you are going to use, have backups of your data in case something goes wrong.
