Sorry if this is OT, but you guys are pretty smart about PCs in general, and I was wondering if you could help me. Ofcourse I have to describe the sound so it's harder, so you may not be of much help. But let's try anyway.
I've my own PC since April. I don't know if PCs require internal cleaning - they probably do, alot of dust or whatever. But, for two months or so now, on and off, my PC has been making strange sounds. When it started doing it, the sound would start when I turned the PC on, and it was louder then. It sounded like a bee was stuck in my PC - loud buzzing or squeeling or something. It would slow down and quiet down until it would stop. It did this for a few days.
This week it's happening again. Only now it happens a bit more quietly, and while the PC is on it does it randomly. Sometimes it sounds like a buzzing or a low rumbling. The sounds vary now. But it almost always seems to be present. It doesn't sound as bad or loud as before, but since it is happening almost the whole time the PC is on, I wonder if it has gotten worse?
I don't know what is wrong. Maybe the fan needs some lubrication or something. But what do you think it is and how serious do you think it is based on what I have described? What should I do to fix it?
Thanks.
