Damn, that thing is sweet! I had one like it a while ago, but threw it in when an oldschool HAM geek came over to buy some other stuff and got all excited about it. Metal body with genuine Bakelite front panel. I LOVE electronics gear from that era, LB should have fun with this one.
Haven't been thrifting much myself lately but I went the other day & scored some things. Maybe not so exciting: I grabbed these REALLY high quality VGA & DVI cables for a dollar each, and noticed they were Matrox-branded. Wondering what they came from. I looked around for a Triplehead2go or something like that but didn't find anything.

They're quite short so I'm assuming they're made for some high-bandwidth video-wall kit or something. Wish I'd found the rest of it. Still, it's nice to run my Samsung 214T in 1600x1200 VGA and not have to look at it in Smear-o-Vision.
I also scored this literal sack of 1960s~70s tape recorder mics for $10. Some of them sound awesome, especially the two Sonys, which are probably gonna become my go-tos for voiceover. I didn't need more mics, but being sensible about audio gear is boring. 😜
