Archive's library is one big jungle, but I did find some useful things on half-working archived sites. If the files weren't stored, then I could at least find references to filenames to search for online.
I'd really appreciate if vogonslibrary had a section for technical (i.e. not the usual consumer end-user) documentation.
But I am pessimistic as there is no developer-relevant sub forum either. All things related to software [and hardware] development/modding thus gets deeply buried in a mass of repetitive boring end-user questions.
If one needs actual information one has to sift through thousands of useless posts because there is no development-grade sub forum which would make for higher quality search results.
The problem with Archive.org is that it is difficult to search. And often only filenames etc are available but not the real content, as you already mentioned. This is extremely frustrating.
Please do not assume the stuff is already present on bitsavers! Upload it there please.
