I looking for drivers and software for the scanner Mustek GS-800.

Found one on that site, and it definitely works on Windows 98SE2 - but only in driver test soft. In other applications TWAIN-devices list is empty. Maybe I need some proprietary soft Windows/DOS for scanning on this device?

hi! This thing reminds me of my old handheld scanner that I had got for my 286 running Windows 3.1.
IMHO it should work just fine in Windows via TWAIN. Maybe you can find a Windows 3.x driver for this model ?
Windows 3.1 drivers should run fine on Win96/98/Me just fine, at least.

PS: Are you sure the driver or your program supports TWAIN ? -There also were SANE, STI and WIA, which came later to the party.
If you're running Win98SE with the Me system files (via inofficial service packs), then there's a chance WIA is supported.

Edit:"Special Notice for Handy Scanner Users:
The drivers posted here is none-TWAIN Mustek Scankit Utility. It means that you cannot scan it via any TWAIN compliant software
likes Picture Publisher or iPhoto Plus. If you are used to those TWAIN software, please click here for Windows95 drivers

Edit: File name of the Win9x driver seems to be hhw208.exe.
Found one here.. Judging by the inf file, GS-800 is supported. Hope it works! 😀

I have a handheld scanner that looks exactly the same, sold under the Trust brand, it's a 256 grayscale model, forgot its exact name.
I have the 5 floppies that came with it, the DOS/Win3.x drivers and scanning tool, Image-In, a scanning/editing/OCR software in French and Perceive Personal, an OCR software in English.

The attachment scankit.png is no longer available
The attachment image-in.png is no longer available
The attachment imagein2.png is no longer available
The attachment perceive-personal-ocr.png is no longer available
The attachment trust_amiscan_gray.zip is no longer available

It definitely supports Twain, there's a Twain.dll in the scanner drivers/utils directory.
If you google around, you can find an old DOS version of Perceive Personal, in case you want to try your scanner in DOS only.

Thank you so much! This is what I need! 😀
And maybe You have some manual for it? Very interesting meaning of all switches.

On mine the buttons are labeled a little bit differently, the left-most position is for text mode, the 3 others are for photo mode of different quality, from rough to fine.
As you guessed, the wheel is for brightness and the switch next to it is the DPI settings, the Acquire dialog box from Scankit should display the settings accordingly.
There's no mention of the underside dipswitch in the manual.

That's weird, mine has the same FCC ID as yours but it's the 400DPI model, and it has no dipswitches under the trapdoor...
