Came home from almost two weeks on the road to find this on the doormat:

Yep, that's 5 cards stuck together with masking tape - and absolutely no other protection - into a 'parcel' that would fit through the letterbox 😦
Worst part is that I only paid for two cards, but seller proudly told me he'd included the rest as no one else was interested. Two cards could have been safely packed to fit through the letterbox...
Fortunately lady luck - and no doubt several anonymous but very much appreciated postal workers - shined on me, after removing all the tape, this was inside:

Two nice-ish Matrox cards, a potentially useful Promise ATA-100 adapter and a non-PnP NE2000 clone - but the reason I bought this was of course the 3Com 3C579-TP EISA NIC. A 100MbE card like the 3C597-TX would have been even nicer, but any decent EISA NIC is quickly becoming unobtainium these days, so sourcing this locally for a reasonable price would have made me extremely happy if it had been well-packed. For now though I need to test the beast as I'm not that confident about it or any of these other cards for some reason, despite the lack of visible damage or missing components...
