I have four of them (Rev 2, 4 and 2x6 I think). I can do some recording later this week if you want (I have good pro grade audio interface). I wanted to do some comparison anyway. CT1350Bs were usually very noisy (you could literally hear the data flowing through the buses 🤣 - a lot like a coil whine on modern graphic cards) - I doubt they emulated it in PCem 😉
Thank you!
HP Z420 Workstation Intel Xeon E5-1620, 32GB, RADEON HD7850 2GB, SSD + HD, XP/7
I wonder if anything can be done to reduce the noise ...

One of the very few times I've had a HDD failure take down my primary system was with one of those JTS Champ drives in my K6/200 back in the day. It was a relatively new drive (couple years) at the time too. Hopefully yours has held up.
I think I had everything important backed up on CD-Rs - two of them - or maybe it was zip disks. But still, rude awakening.

It came with 486DX2 system which was used upto 1999/2000.
No bad sectors or strange noises at all.

Well crap. Of course the second I say that, another one shows up on eBay. Literally have never seen one in my many years of collecting.

The one on eBay now is missing the disks though.
And I bet somebody saw what they are going for and decided to throw their's up.
Almost won 5 GameBoy DMG-01 systems (with the Play it Loud! edition) on another auction site and got outbidded at the last second, however, I bidded on 2 different auctions on eBay: 3 GameBoy DMG-01 systems untested, as-is, and a Play it Loud! system bundle with 6 games, GameShark for the GameBoy, Game Link cable, game case protection for 5 games, the system itself, magnifier with lights, and a carrying case.
Pictures of the items in question along with the prices (might've been too much, but, oh well):
(3) GameBoy DMG-01 as-is, untested ($70.99, $66 + $4.99 S&H)
GameBoy Play it Loud! red edition, fully functional ($69, $56 + $13 S&H)
Projects:
1) Inspecting and repairing the GameBoy DMG-01 systems
2) Installing the Backlight and Bivert mods to each system
3) Replacing the screen covers with glass ones over plastic for better clarity and scratch resistance

I picked up one of those original nintendo gameboys not too long after they first came out.... i still own it to this day and still looks like new, i've taken very good care of it and always removed the 4aa batteries when not in use.

Congratulations for getting that Gold !!
I saw a listing for it but coudn't justify the cost (just to get me a surround module to complement my boxed Gold). Of course I regretted that decision immediately when I saw it gone.. Seller had pretty mediocre pictures but everything seems to be in great shape - very nice! Now I am just regretting even more not getting it.. 😢

So....i'm going to just post my entire "AT CASE" purchases I've done for the past 3 years or so... All of these were between $5 and $15 each at my local thrift store.
That case from first column under the first case in the upper-left I have on my AMD K6-2 333MHz system! What brand is this case?

ATI Rage Fury
Picked up this ActiveEngine 32VL .. does anyone have any specs on this, as far as performance? How does it compare to some notable VLB graphics cards?
Also got this very nice VLB/ISA/EISA motherboard... I'm not familiar with the CPU/heatsink setup.. is this some sort of overdrive processor? I'm not quite sure how to remove it from the socket, as the heatsink blocks the latching mechanism.
HOWEVER, Varta battery strikes again!
All the traces are toast. Sigh.

^^^I recently sold a Pentium in such a case. From what I recall, it wasn't a particularly good case.
Up until 2005ish the local thrift stores did indeed sell the computers whole. Since that time, they either part them out (never leaving the hard disks intact) or flat out recycle them. It pains me to think about how many x86 systems were thrown out because of this stupid process. I got a lot of cool programs off hard disks this way 😉
IMO if you don't erase the data off your systems prior to disposal, that's on you.

What's for sale? my eBay!
Holy shiz, thats an old photo of my collection...
The case from the 2nd upper left? With two 5.25" and the floppy drive slot in-case? If that's the one, I don't know who made it. I'll see if I still have it (probably do) but from what I remember the buttons on it suuuuuuuck. Very flimsy, ultra-small case. My collection has grown probably 2x over that photo. Ugh. I have a problem, step 1....
