Hello,
I can't bring my mouse to life. The MOBO has onboard serial controller. I was trying to turn it off and put external controller card (which works perfectly with the same mouse on other system) but nothing changed... I use ctmouse.exe and mouse.com driver.
The board has a PS/2 connector too and it works with other mices. But I want to know what's the issue with serial port (if it is).
This is the last thing I have to complete to finish my perfect 486 computer.
Kindly regards,
Wiktor

I had similar problem. The board needs serial port bracket with staggered pinout, even though the manual lists the pinout as sequential.

Check +12/-12V lines directly in ISA slot. If serial ports are detected, but mouse isn't (even by trying different I/O cards) most likely one of the 12V lines are absent due to corrosion on motherboard's power header or PSU sockets.
