Bought this for $7.23 shipped on eBay. Ad said "334004-002 Compaq VIDEO CARD S3"

I'm leaning towards S3 ViRGE GX/2 but can't confirm. Anyone? Thanks.

BGA chip - check
SGRAM memory - check

Yep, that's GX2.

Hope it has a BIOS like my Compaq S3 Virge/GX. That's VBE 2.0 with almost every video mode you can imagine. Excellent for late DOS demos and FPS.
And not like the noname AGP GX2s that I found - these could be good but are plagued by the bright S3 black plague.

Run my SIV (http://rh-software.com/) utility, press [PCI Bus] and it will tell you all the PCI Device IDs.

Thanks everyone! I'll let you know exactly what it is when I get it hopefully sometime next week.

Winfast also made a GX2 PCI version. I have one. I think it's the Winfast S680, and with the memory expansion I think it's 8MB.

When I used the Number9 drivers it artifacted like crazy, especially in 24 bit. I used some other S3 GX2 driver and it works like a charm now. The card itself is in near-perfect shape too.
